Rudzie Deer Farm near Gołdap along with Słoja Deer Farm near Sokółka are among the most spectacular European scale undertakings in the new branch
of agriculture that deer farming still is. The owner of both farms is Wilczewscy Horticultural Farm from Białous near Sokółka (www.blueberry.pl). Rudzie farm has about 350 hectares fenced
land (33 km fencing), with more than 250 hectares divided into 20 grazing plots. The herd is nearly complete and has about 1030 animals. Słoja farm is being expanded to a similar size, having
880 deer now.
We count on modernity and quality. Our main aim, besides producing high class breeding and brood material, is providing the highest class farm venison, based on natural feeding, upkeep and breeding methods. Its basis is keeping animals in welfare conditions outdoors throughout the year, pasturing on grazing plots in summer and feeding with our own basic farm fodder in winter (hay-silage from grass, corn, hay). A high level of domestication of our deer, together with professional equipment and service, allow full control over the herd and health care. Location in the region with the purest air in the country, good climate, soil and landscape conditions has considerable value too. We invite you to learn details of our activity and offer, and use the information available here.

BREEDING FOR MEAT
We want to make it the main line of production and the basis of our farms’ functioning. It seems to be the major direction of breeding in the future on the majority of deer farms worldwide. We count mainly on using heterosis effect accompanying cross-breeding (hybridization) of different subspecies/ecotypes of deer. We decided to start breeding program based on a basic herd of English type hinds and Polish stags.
The starting point for the Polish line of European farm deer is the herd bought from the Research Station IP PAN in Kosewo Górne. It was the only domestic deer herd in the country built up form the base, i.e. based on genetic material obtained from different Polish hunting grounds. It is so valuable and promising that we decided not only to keep but also develop it. In two directions – for crossbreeding our stags with English hinds and for ‘pure’ blood breeding (selling breeding material).
Farm venison – new quality meat

- age of three years or less
- natural growth conditions, keeping animal welfare rules
- free grazing during the vegetation season
- no hormones or growth enhancing steroids
- basic feed is pasture and – in winter – natural feed coming from it (hay, hay-silage) and additionally whole grains
- transport to slaughter, slaughter and processing must meet strictly defined conditions
Thanks to the above our farm venison should fulfils the expectations of the most refined restaurants and clients valuing the highest quality, taste and health. HEALTH, because farm venison means:
